BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA TREATMENTS

As the prostate grows, it begins squeezing the urethra causing uncomfortable and inconvenient urination problems- Frequent urination, especially at night, a hesitant and intermittent flow, sense of urgency, and a feeling that the bladder is not emptied. Treatment is based on how severe your symptoms are, how much they bother you, and whether you have complications.

Fortunately, now there are more advanced procedures available- Microwave Therapy (cooled thermotherapy), Prostiva, and GreenLight laser.

Of all the procedures, the Green-Light Laser with the new XPS fiber has proven to be the most effective and durable procedure for enlarged prostate treatment.

The GreenLight Laser is a minimally-invasive technique for treating BPH. It’s a procedure which uses the technology of a high-powered laser light combined with fiber optics to vaporize the overgrowth of prostate cells quickly and accurately.  GreenLight is alone in being able to give patients quick symptom relief, ease and comfort of urinary flow, and minimal short-term side effects.

Many men find they can return to normal activities by three days after this procedure. Such activities aggravate the urogenital area and can cause bleeding. Patients may experience retrograde ejaculation or diminished volume.
