EXCERCISE AND GLUTAMINE SUPPLEMENTS

Glutamine is an amino acid or protein building block produced by the body.  It serves a variety of functions in supporting the immune, digestive, and nervous system.  Additionally, Glutamine helps remove excess ammonia from the body.  It is also found in foods such as meats, poultry, cheese, spinach and cabbage. As a dietary supplement, glutamine supplements can help replenish low levels due to stress.

During intense physical exercise, Glutamine levels are greatly depleted in your body, which decreases strength, stamina, and recovery time.  Glutamine is the most common amino acid found in your muscles and plays key roles in metabolism and anti-catabolism.  This also increases your ability to secrete HCG (Human Growth Hormone), which helps metabolize body fat and support new muscle growth. Glutamine’s anti-catabolism ability prevents the breakdown of your muscles.

During the summer months when your trying to get rid of some body fat without losing muscle mass,  glutamine can be a good supplement.
