Many men want to know if they get a vasectomy, can it be reversed? The short answer is yes. However, it is more involved to reserve a vasectomy than to have one done.
A reversal is always done with a general anesthetic and can be several thousand dollars, usually not covered by insurance. The longer the time from the vasectomy can lead to lower success rates with a reversal.
I tell men every day, it is easier to bank sperm in a sperm bank and thaw it if necessary than reverse a vasectomy. Men should consider that especially if they are younger as they may change their mind in the future.
